KUCHING: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) Youth has clarified that any appearance or participation by Sarawak leaders in programmes or campaign activities in the Sabah election is done strictly in their individual capacity.
The wing stressed the involvement of individuals does not represent PRS or Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), nor does it reflect the official stance of either entity.
“As a component party of GPS, we respect Sabah’s political autonomy and do not direct or involve any of our members to campaign for any political party contesting in Sabah,” it said in a statement.
PRS Youth added that the party believes Sabahans are politically mature and capable of determining their own leadership direction.
The wing also reiterated PRS’ focus on advancing Sarawak’s development agenda, strengthening youth unity, and maintaining positive relations with political partners across Malaysia.
The statement was issued to avoid misunderstanding between Sarawak and Sabah, with PRS reaffirming GPS’ neutral and non-interfering position in the election.
