KAPIT: The Sarawak Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has reinforced its oversight role in ensuring effective and transparent implementation of state development projects, including through a site inspection of the Baleh Hydroelectric Dam Access Road Project here.

The visit, led by Sarawak PAC Chairman, Datuk Razaili Gapor, was conducted to assess first-hand the progress of one of the state’s key strategic infrastructure projects, which is expected to serve as a catalyst for development in the interior region.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed on the project’s current status by the Public Works Department (PWD) Kapit Division, which covered implementation progress, physical development on site, and challenges encountered in ensuring the project remains on track for completion.

A dialogue session was also held, allowing PAC members to directly engage with the implementing agency and obtain detailed feedback on project execution and related issues.

The visit underscores the Sarawak PAC’s continued commitment to strengthening governance and accountability in public project delivery, ensuring that development initiatives are carried out efficiently, effectively and transparently for the benefit of the people.
