KUCHING: The Sarawak Scout Headquarters has received a donation of tables and chairs from the Kuching City Scout Council.
The donation was handed over by Kuching City Scout Council chairman Bong Lian Huan to Scouts Association of Malaysia Sarawak Branch executive secretary Zasran Abdullah during a ceremony held at the Scout Headquarters in Jalan Batu Lintang here yesterday (June 19).
The contribution comprised 50 plastic chairs, 20 banquet tables and six round dining tables, which will be used to support various scouting activities and programmes in the state.
Speaking during the ceremony, Zasran expressed his gratitude to the Kuching City Scout Council on behalf of the Sarawak Scout Council for the donation.
“The donation comes at a very appropriate time as the Sarawak Scout Headquarters is currently hosting the Malaysia King’s Scouts Brotherhood Conference from 19 to 21 June 2026.
“The additional tables and chairs will greatly assist in ensuring the smooth running of the conference and future scouting events,” he said.
Zasran added that the Sarawak Scout Council highly values the support and cooperation extended by the Kuching City Scout Council and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing the scouting movement and youth development in Sarawak.
Also present were assistant chief commissioner Ng Ah Look, council member Charles Yeo, and Kuching City South District Scout Commissioner Liaw May Choo.
