SINGAPORE: Sarawak has opened its pavilion at The Meetings Show Asia-Pacific 2026 (TMS APAC) for a third consecutive year, reinforcing its push into the Asia Pacific market and advancing its positioning as the legacy capital of business events in Malaysia and Borneo.
The Sarawak Pavilion brings its ‘Driving Impact Together’ brand promise to life by placing local enterprises at the forefront, serving as a platform for Sarawak-based brands to engage international audiences and build strategic partnerships.
Deputy Minister for Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, who led the delegation, said the continued participation reflects a clear regional strategy focused on long-term growth.
“This is our third year at TMS APAC, reflecting our commitment to this market. We are here stronger, clearer and more focused on impact,” he said at the pavilion opening.
He stressed that Asia-Pacific remains a priority growth market, with Sarawak aiming to strengthen partnerships and expand its business events footprint.
Snowdan said Sarawak is presenting itself as a united destination, with participation from industry players across Kuching, Sibu and Miri.
He noted that every engagement at the event presents an opportunity to create value, not only for organisations but for the state as a whole.
The participation comes amid strong regional growth, particularly in Singapore, which recorded a 76.22 per cent increase in visitor arrivals in February 2026.
This momentum is further supported by improved connectivity, including the establishment of AirBorneo to enhance access and competitiveness.
Deputy State Secretary and chairman of Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) Datuk Hii Chang Kee said Sarawak is well-positioned to capitalise on rising global demand.
He said the state offers strong sector expertise and collaborative ecosystems that align with international market needs.
Acting chief executive officer of BESarawak, Jason Tan Chin Foo said Sarawak’s focus on legacy-driven business events is strengthening its position as a strategic partner.
“Our efforts to create lasting impact with stakeholders and communities continue to drive our ambition forward,” he said.
The pavilion features a comprehensive ecosystem of industry players, including convention centres, hotels and event service providers, presenting an integrated offering.
