KUCHING: A security guard was jailed for one month and fined RM2,000 by the Magistrates’ Court today (June 19) for leaving an obscene note bearing semen stains on a female office worker’s desk.

Magistrate Ling Hui Chuan imposed the sentence on 27-year-old Mohammad Ruzaimie Rudiman after he pleaded guilty to an offence under Section 507B of the Penal Code.

The offence carries a penalty of up to three years’ imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.

Section 507B of the Penal Code criminalises threatening, abusive, or insulting words, communications, or acts intended to cause, or likely to cause, harassment, distress, fear, or alarm.

According to the charge, Ruzaimie committed the offence at about 6:15 am on December 11, 2025, at an office near Jalan Demak Maju Muara Tebas, where he left a yellow note on the victim’s desk.

The note contained obscene remarks and was found to bear semen stains.

Fact of the case revealed that the 33-year-old victim discovered the note at her workplace on the morning of the incident and subsequently lodged a police report.

Investigations led to the arrest of Ruzaimie on June 16, at about 6:30 pm by a team from the Kuching IPD Criminal Investigation Department.

Chemical analysis confirmed that the DNA profile of the semen found on the note matched the accused’s blood sample, positively identifying him as the perpetrator.

Deputy Public Prosecutor, Muhammad Afiq Safly Nor Kazly, prosecuted the case while Ruzaimie was unrepresented.
