WASHINGTON: More than 8,500 flights were delayed and hundreds cancelled due to a snowstorm affecting Colorado and the northwestern US, according to FlightAware data, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
As previously reported by US media, a snowstorm warning was issued for the northwestern US on Saturday. As a result, more than 1,400 domestic and international flights across the country were cancelled.
According to real-time flight tracking data, the total number of delays within, entering, and leaving the country today stands at 8,558, with 686 flights cancelled in the US out of 1,072 worldwide.
O’Hare International Airport (ORD), located in northwest Chicago, Illinois, has faced the most difficulties, with 121 flights already cancelled, according to the service. – BERNAMA-SPUTNIK/RIA NOVOSTI
