SIMANGGANG: The Sri Aman Community Welfare and Health Committee (JAKKSA) has donated several wheelchairs to Sri Aman Hospital II to help address a shortage caused by the increasing number of patients seeking treatment.
JAKKSA chairman Gerald Empaling said the contribution reflects the committee’s commitment to supporting patients’ welfare and comfort, particularly those requiring mobility assistance.
He said the committee would continue to support the hospital and plans to contribute additional medical equipment and essential items in the future.
“We hope this contribution will help ease the burden on the hospital and improve the experience of patients receiving treatment,” he said during a handover ceremony held at the hospital on Sunday.
Gerald stressed that cooperation between non-governmental organisations, private sector and local community is crucial in strengthening healthcare services and ensuring hospitals have adequate resources to meet growing demands.
He also called on more organisations and individuals to come forward and contribute essential equipment and supplies to support healthcare institutions.
“Contributions from various sectors not only help improve hospital facilities but also reflect a shared sense of compassion and responsibility towards the wellbeing of the community,” he said.
Sri Aman Hospital director Dr Hazwani Mohd Yusop received the donation on behalf of the hospital and expressed appreciation to JAKKSA for its support.
She said the contribution would assist the hospital in enhancing facilities and services for patients while helping to meet current operational needs.
