KUCHING: The Sarawak State Education Department (JPNS) remains committed to creating an environment where young scientists can explore, experiment, and thrive, ensuring Malaysia takes a leading role in the global science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) landscape.

JPNS Deputy Director of the Student Development Sector, Zamzaitul Akmal Hisham Ahmad, said the department would continue to equip students with the tools, skills, and platforms needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.

He said collaborations with industry leaders, academic institutions, and international partners reflect JPNS’ resolve to nurture future innovators.

“In today’s fast-paced world, science and technology are the cornerstones of progress. Whether we are tackling climate change, energy sustainability, or public health, science offers the solutions we need.

“I encourage you to embrace your curiosity, creativity and passion for knowledge. Your ideas and discoveries have the potential to shape the future, and JPNS is fully committed to supporting your journeys,” he said.

He said this when officiating at Science Castle Malaysia 2025 held at the Waterfront Hotel here today.

Zamzaitul said the event, organised by Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn Bhd, played a vital role in empowering young minds to engage in meaningful discourse and develop projects addressing real-world challenges.

He commended the organisers and their partners for their efforts in fostering young talent and promoting cross-cultural scientific collaboration.

He also welcomed cooperation from any agency or organisation interested in advancing STEM education.

“We believe partnerships are key to nurturing a vibrant ecosystem of science and innovation among the younger generation.

“The collaborative spirit of Science Castle is inspiring. It is heartening to see students from various countries, cultures, and backgrounds coming together to share knowledge and innovate for a better tomorrow,” he added.

“Science knows no borders, and this event proves the power of teamwork and unity in scientific pursuit.”
