KUALA LUMPUR: Anugerah Hati, performed by Suki Low, is not just a nostalgic nod to classic raya songs but also stands out for its special tribute to a frequently overlooked group – autistic children.
In the music video for this joget-genre song, the Seremban-born singer brings the joy of Aidilfitri to these special individuals by choosing an autism centre as the primary setting for the song’s visuals.
As the first-season winner of the reality show One In A Million, Suki believes that the festive spirit of hari raya belongs to everyone, and that no one should be left out.
This belief led her to collaborate with the IDEAS Autism Centre (IAC) in producing the music video.
Dedicated specifically to autistic children, Anugerah Hati is more than just a raya song – it carries a powerful message of love and hope while striving to raise awareness about autism through music.
“Music transcends race, belief and background.
“This song is also my heartfelt plea for us to listen with love, love more deeply, and create a world where every child’s light shines brightly and freely,” she said.
“I chose the timeless joget rhythm for its joyful spirit and its deep connection to Malay cultural roots, much like the resilience of autistic children,” she said in a statement released by the Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS).
Meanwhile, IAC Director Mazrina Arifin said the song holds great meaning for the centre and the autistic community, as it celebrates the voices and happiness of both the children and teachers at the facility.
“We hope this song inspires a more inclusive and compassionate Malaysia.
“Every contribution, big or small, helps us fund therapy, train specialists, and extend support to more families in need,” she said.
The song also features the cultural group Alun Tradisi as well as IDEAS Founder and President, Tunku Zain Al-‘Abidin Tuanku Muhriz.
Anugerah Hati is now available on all music streaming platforms, while its music video premiered on Suki Low’s YouTube channel (iamsukilow) yesterday. – BERNAMA
