SIBU: A Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Branch team visited Tanjung Kunyit today (May 17) to engage with residents and gain a better understanding of issues and needs within the community.

The visit received an encouraging response, with residents actively participating in the engagement session.

Led by branch chairman, Kevin Lau Kor Jie, the team included community leaders, Penghulu Yong King Sung, Kapitan Ting Siew Kiew, Justin Wong and Yong Ing Hock, reflecting the branch’s continued commitment to serving grassroots communities.

During the session, residents highlighted several livelihood-related concerns, including water and electricity supply applications, welfare aid assistance for patients, land title renewal procedures and damages to wooden houses.

They expressed hope that the relevant authorities would look into the matters and provide the necessary assistance.

Lau said the team would continue following up on the issues raised and help channel residents’ concerns to the relevant government departments in efforts to improve basic facilities and living conditions in the area.

“I would like to thank the residents for their active participation and cooperation. The engagement session was fruitful and meaningful.

“I hope close communication with the community will continue in the future so that we can work together to promote local development,” said Lau, who is also SUPP Youth Chief.
