NETFLIX’S series “Teach You a Lesson”, premiered yesterday, is based on a webtoon of the same name and centres on the Teacher Rights Protection Bureau, an organisation that intervenes in cases involving victims within school environments and aims to restore order.
The series combines several genres, including drama, humour, and action.
It presents both lighter moments and more serious situations, along with emotional storylines and suspenseful developments.
The narrative also includes multiple twists, with characters making decisions that shape the direction of the story and its outcomes.
A key feature of the series is its focus on its main characters. Kim Moo-yeol plays Na Hwa Jin, an inspector working for the bureau.
Lee Sung-min appears as Choi Kang Seok, the Education Minister who established the organisation.
Jin Ki-joo plays Im Han Lim, a former special forces member who now works as an inspector, while Pyo Ji-hoon portrays Bong Geun Dae, a character created for the television adaptation.
The group operates as a team within the bureau, handling cases together while dealing with differing personalities and approaches.
Their interactions are expected to develop as the series progresses.
The production is led by director Hong Jong-chan, known for “Juvenile Justice” and “Dear My Friends”, and writer Lee Nam-gyu, who previously worked on “Daily Dose of Sunshine” and “The Light in Your Eyes”.
According to the creators, the series focuses on portraying human experiences and emotional situations rather than a straightforward conflict between good and evil.
