KUCHING: Sarawak is set to host a major regional cultural milestone as the Beatroot Festival arrives at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from May 21 to 23.
Held under the theme ‘The Beat of Friendship, Rooted in Culture’, the three-day festival aims to position Kuching as Southeast Asia’s rising cultural hub by merging music, fashion, movement, and cross-border collaboration.
The event serves as the flagship entertainment pillar of Tee.F.Dee 2026 (The Friendship Diplomacy), a first-of-its-kind integrated platform designed to accelerate Sarawak’s role in creative commerce and cultural diplomacy.
Tee.F.Dee 2026 is jointly organised by The Sophie’s Choice Sdn Bhd as the lead organiser and Kaizen Quality Sdn Bhd as the co-producer, with Beatroot Festival positioned as the event’s main regional entertainment showcase.
Tee.F.Dee is jointly organised by The Sophie’s Choice Sdn Bhd (TSC) as the lead organiser and Kaizen Quality Sdn Bhd as the co-producer.
A major highlight is the Sarawak debut of Indonesian viral sensation Juan Reza.
Known for the hit ‘Tabola Bale’, Reza has dominated TikTok and streaming platforms with his unique fusion of rap, R&B, and Eastern Indonesian tribal rhythms.
He joins a high-energy lineup featuring SonaOne, Shigga Shay, Saykoji, and Teza Sumendra, alongside other regional acts.
Organisers described the festival as a movement to strengthen regional diplomacy through the arts.
“Music crosses borders and rhythm create diplomacy.
“Beatroot represents a new generation of cultural exchange where friendship, creativity, and identity unite through live experiences,” the organiser said in a statement.
