KUCHING: Texas ‘The Savage’ Jeremy Lo’s unbeaten run in the Rajadamnern World Series (RWS) came to an end tonight after the Sarawakian teenager endured a punishing three-round battle against Thailand’s Phet A-Cheer at Rajadamnern Stadium, Bangkok of Thailand.
The defeat now places Texas’ RWS record at five wins and one loss.
The Super Featherweight preliminary clash quickly exploded into an aggressive firefight after both fighters spent the opening moments sizing each other up.
The Sarawakian fighter ignited the pace early with a sharp body kick that sent the Thai fighter stumbling into the ropes before the Malaysian began pressing forward aggressively against Phet’s southpaw stance.
However, the momentum shifted midway through the opening round when Phet opened a cut near Texas’ eye during a fiery exchange.
Despite the injury, the 17-year-old refused to back away, continuing to march forward with combinations and pressure as the opening round ended at a frantic pace.
The second round resumed with both fighters trading elbows, high kicks, jabs and knee strikes in another bruising exchange.
Phet repeatedly targeted Jeremy’s cut while using clinches to slow the Sarawakian’s attacks, with the Thai fighter also landing a sweeping high kick followed by several body shots and hooks.
Still, Texas remained aggressive throughout the contest, refusing to surrender momentum despite the worsening damage around his eye.
The Sarawakian came out swinging again in the third round, unloading rapid combinations while relentlessly pressing forward in search of a breakthrough.
But the height and reach difference increasingly became a major factor as Phet used his longer frame to intercept Texas’ advances with counters and long-range strikes.
The final bell eventually signalled the end of his five-fight unbeaten streak inside RWS.
Despite the defeat, the Sarawakian teenager proved his mettle after refusing to back down against an opponent four years his senior under the unforgiving lights of Rajadamnern Stadium.
