MIRI: Police arrested three individuals for alleged involvement in drug abuse activities at an entertainment outlet here.
Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said a team of police officers and personnel conducted a raid on the entertainment outlet at Jalan Maju.
During the raid, five individuals were inspected in a room at the premises.
“The team inspected the room and arrested three individuals. They also seized a small glass containing a liquid believed to contain MDMA.
“The three individuals, including two women, were arrested after their urine screening tests returned positive for drugs,” he said.
The three suspects are being investigated under Sections 12(2) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Mohd Farhan said police will continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement operations to curb the abuse of illicit substances at entertainment outlets and ensure public safety and order.
