KUCHING: Sam Laya and Abang Abdul Aziz Abang Draup have been reappointed as political secretaries to the Premier during a swearing-in ceremony at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here recently.

The ceremony, officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, saw the duo taking their oaths of office, signing the Official Secrets Act, and receiving their appointment letters.

Sam, from the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP), and Abang Abdul Aziz, representing Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), previously served in the same roles for two years.

Their reappointment highlights their contributions to advancing the state’s administrative goals.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport (Riverine and Marine) Datuk Henry Harry Jinep, Deputy State Secretary (Administration) Datuk Buckland Bangik, and chief political secretary to the Premier Datuk Fazruddin Abdul Rahman.

Both Sam and Abang Abdul Aziz are expected to continue strengthening the state’s development policies and initiatives through their active roles in representing their respective parties and communities within the Sarawak government.
