KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, have been invited to attend the state-level National Day celebration this year.
The invitation letter was presented during a courtesy call by the Sarawak National Day Celebration 2026 Main Committee at Astana Negeri, Petra Jaya on Monday.
The delegation was led by Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom, who is also the minister responsible for the 2026 National Day celebrations.
Kapit Division has been selected as the host for this year’s Sarawak-level National Day celebration.
The courtesy call was held to formally present the invitation letter to Wan Junaidi and Fauziah to attend the various events held in conjunction with the celebration.
During the session, Wan Junaidi expressed his appreciation to the organising committee for its efforts in ensuring the smooth organisation of this year’s celebration.
He also expressed hope that the celebration would strengthen the spirit of togetherness while continuing to foster unity and a sense of love for Sarawak and the country among the people of Sarawak’s multiracial community.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Women, Children and Community Well-being Development Datuk Rosey Yunus; Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication Datuk Liwan Lagang; Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Port Development Datuk Majang Renggi; Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Native Law and Customs) Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat; Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail.
