KUCHING: A Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak MP has declined to comment further on whether anyone from the party will be jumping ship to join the country’s ruling coalition.
It was reported today, that a source told Free Malaysia Today (FMT) that two PKR MPs were in talks with middlemen from Perikatan Nasional (PN) to join the governing coalition.
The source had told the online news portal that one of the MPs is from East Malaysia who had confirmed that he was crossing over and expected to join a party that is PN friendly.
While the other MP that may quit PKR is from Peninsular Malaysia.
New Sarawak Tribune was able to get hold of one of the PKR Sarawak MP; however, the latter refused to comment on the matter.
When contacted PKR Sarawak Information chief Abun Sui Anyit, he said he was not aware of such news on whether its chief Larry Sng, who is also the Julau MP and vice president 1 Dr Michael Teo, who is also the Miri MP would be leaving the party.
“I am going to the rural areas and I am not in the know on this, and whatever it is, the party has no control over any individual (who wants to join other parties),” he said.
It is better for us to wait and see what is the outcome of such rumours (regarding MPs who might quit PKR), he said.
