SELANGAU: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) dominated the Selangau Raft Safari 2026 after winning three of the five categories contested during the Selangau Carnival 2026.
In the Government category, the UNIMAS Aqua Knight Team emerged champion with a time of two hours 32 minutes and two seconds, ahead of VOLSAR RELA Sarawak (2:37:53) and PERKESO JJ PASUN (2:56:51).
UNIMAS continued its winning run in the Women’s Open category, with the UNIMAS Rafter Team taking the title in two hours 42 minutes and 23 seconds.
The UNIMAS Raftvengers Team finished second in 2:45:53, while Kut Muara 2 placed third in 2:52:06.
The university also triumphed in the Mixed category through the UNIMAS Eco Adventure Team, which crossed the finish line in two hours 31 minutes and 57 seconds.
In the Men’s Open category, KUT MUARA 1 recorded the fastest overall time of the competition to claim the title in two hours 28 minutes and 45 seconds.
Kukuh United A finished second in 2:36:58, while Impian Selangau came in third with a time of 3:08:33.
Meanwhile, PPKS Sebintek won the Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) category with a time of two hours 48 minutes and 29 seconds.
JKKK Ulu Dijih finished second in 3:00:49, followed by JKKK Kampung Sungai Wong Baru Ulu Mukah in third with a time of 3:03:30.
Organised by the Sibu Rural District Council, the Selangau Raft Safari 2026 set a new participation record with 45 teams, the highest since the event was introduced.
The closing ceremony and prize presentation were officiated by Tamin assemblyman Christopher Gira Sambang.
