KUCHING: 100 recipients received donations comprising Ang Pow and various Chinese New Year (CNY) goodies at Kuching Heng Hua Ing Tong yesterday in conjunction with the upcoming CNY festival.
The Sejambak Kasih Tahun Baru Cina 2018 programme was graced by the Minister of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family, and Childhood Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah.
The recipients comprising the poor, elderly, the disabled and single mother received a monthly assistant from welfare department.
“This annual activity aims to support and lessen the burden of these groups especially the Chinese celebrating CNY,” said Fatimah. The programme was a strategic partner activity which involved various agencies, private companies, associations and others.
