SARATOK: Seventeen people were left homeless after three single-storey houses at Jalan Kampung Hilir Kabong were destroyed in an early dawn fire on Monday (Nov 2).
The Fire and Rescue Department operations centre was contacted about the blaze at 4.47am and firefighters from Saratok fire station were deployed to the scene.
Operations commander Nazry Mohamat reported that by the time the firemen arrived the semi-permanent houses were already destroyed.
The 17 occupants including three children were not injured by the blaze that also caused minor structural damage to three nearby houses.
