SERIAN: Three men were injured in two separate accidents along Jalan Sri Aman-Serian today (June 28), with the crashes occurring about 20 minutes apart and prompting rescue operations by the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).

The first accident was reported at 1.10 pm at Kampung Sabal Kruin, where a Toyota Hilux veered off the road and overturned on the roadside.

Firefighters extricate one of the injured victims from the Toyota Hilux.

Two men were injured in the crash. One of them had been rescued by members of the public before firefighters arrived, while the other remained inside the vehicle but was not trapped.

Firefighters assisted the second victim using a stretcher before handing him over to paramedics for further treatment.

While en route to the first case, firefighters received another distress call at 1.32 pm involving a second accident at Kampung Sabal Tabang.

Upon arrival, the team found a Perodua Axia overturned on the roadside with its driver still inside the vehicle.

Although the man was not trapped, he was unable to get out on his own. This prompted rescuers to force open the vehicle’s door using specialised tools before assisting him out.

He was later placed on a stretcher and transported to Serian Hospital for further treatment.

Bomba later confirmed that all three victims sustained injuries, and both rescue operations ended at 2.25 pm after the situations were deemed safe.
