MALUDAM: A foreign bargeman who drowned after falling into Batang Lupar near Triso Ferry pier was found today (Nov 2).
Saif Ali, 21, an Indian national was reported to have slipped and fell off the barge while refuelling a water pump about 5.30pm last Saturday.
His body was discovered by an employee of Triso Ferry at 6.20am about 300 metres from where he fell into the river.
No injuries were found on the body that was subsequently handed over to the police for further actions.
The operations centre of the Fire and Rescue Department said the search for the man was called off at 7am.
