SIBU: Two male youth were arrested for performing dangerous motorcycle stunts on the road during an ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’ here on yesterday (Oct 28) night.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Zulkipli Suhaili in a statement yesterday said that the operation was conducted at Jalan Awang Ramli Amit here from 9 pm Friday until 2.30 am yesterday.
“The two youth aged 18, are being arrested and investigated under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“In the operation, various offences and lawsuits were taken, such as driver’s licence offences, exhaust modification offences, number plate offences, no side mirrors, not covered by insurance, and not displaying a P sticker,” he said.
Zulkipli noted that the public is advised to obey the Traffic Law.
“Parents are also advised to monitor and be sensitive to their children’s activities so that they do not get involved in illegal activities,” he said.
