30 recipients benefit from TBS fund

KUCHING: A total of RM38,380 in fund was distributed to 30 recipients by the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS) at Majma Mall yesterday.

The funds were distributed under three programmes, with fifteen recipients benefiting under ‘Bantuan Wang Fidyah’, five organisations benefited under ‘Membangunkan Institusi Islam’ programme and 10 students received aid under ‘Mengukuhkan Tradisi Keilmuan’ programme. .

“To help the Muslim community, several programmes are held, which aim to aid those in need.

“In addition, the Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS), TBS, and religious offices will go to places throughout Sarawak to provide assistance to the Muslim needy community.

“Also, as the Sarawak Harakah Islamiah (HIKMAH) deputy president, I will visit places to provide assistance to those in need and provide assistance alongside the HIKMAH president Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain,” said Datuk Misnu Taha, president of Sarawak Islamic Council (Majlis Islam Sarawak).

He said this to reporters when met after the opening ceremony of the Majma Raya Fest 2023 and Ramadan Bazaar at the Majma Mall yesterday.

Misnu added the amount of assistance provided is not fixed but depending on the individuals’ needs and those who asked for help.

“Meanwhile, the public are also encouraged to download the Jejak Asnaf mobile application and they can make a report regarding those who require assistance on the application.

“For those who need help, they can use this application to upload pictures to us, and we will come to visit the relevant places,” he added.

He also said TBS will ensure that Muslims in the state, especially the needy, receive the necessary assistance in Sarawak, particularly during this Ramadan month.
