BINTULU: A wooden house in Kampung Dato here, was razed to the ground in a wee-hour fire today (Oct 16).
Fortunately, no injuries were reported among three tenants aged between 18 and 22 in the 2.09am incident.
A spokesman for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firemen from Bintulu station were despatched to the scene at Jalan Abang Galau Sibiew after receiving a distress call.
On arrival, the house was beyond saving and the extinguishing deed was performed with water sourced from a fire hydrant.
In addition to the house’s destruction, the fire also caused damages to the driver’s side of a Lexus car.
After ensuring that the situation was safe and there are no embers at the scene, the team concluded the operation at 3.39am.
The cause of the fire and losses incurred is yet to be ascertained.
