MIRI: About 2,000 mandarin oranges were distributed by members of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Piasau branch to people at the Lutong Market on Sunday morning,
The pre-Chinese New Year activity was led by its chairman Datuk Sebastian Ting.
Mandarin orange distributions have been an annual event for SUPP Piasau ahead of the Lunar New Year celebration.
It is widely held that giving mandarin oranges as gifts is a way of wishing happiness and prosperity.
