KUCHING: Sarawak Health Department (JKNS) director Dr Ooi Choo Huck will be retiring on February 4.

A ceremony for the handing over of duties was held today between the outgoing health director and State Health Deputy Director (Public Health) Dr Veronica Lugah.

The signing of the handover note was witnessed by the State Health Deputy Director (Management) Banges Munga at the department’s meeting hall.

Present at the event were State Health Deputy Director (Medical) Dr Azlee Ayub, State Health Deputy Director (Pharmacy) Nor Anizah Osman, State Health Deputy Director (Dentistry) Dr Aminuddin Mohd Natar, and State Health Deputy Director (Food Safety and Quality) Mohammad Jefri Crossley.

Dr Ooi assumed his position as the health director in March 2022 and served for nearly two years.

A presentation of commemorative gifts was also held during the ceremony along with a photo session with the Sarawak Health Department staff.
