MIRI: Six foreign nationals were apprehended during a surprise operation conducted by Miri’s Immigration Enforcement Unit (UPI) in an unnumbered house in Lapok, approximately 100 kilometres from Miri, on Dec 15.
Acting on intelligence reports, the enforcement team raided the property late at night and found the individuals asleep at the time of the operation.
The arrests were made for various immigration offences, including failure to produce valid travel documents, overstaying, and residing in Malaysia without proper permits.
The cases are being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63.
