SIBU: In anticipation of the upcoming Lunar New Year, Chairman of the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Dudong Branch, Wong Ching Yong, went to Tiong Hua Temporary Market on Chew Siik Hiong Road here yesterday (Jan 19) to distribute mandarin oranges to members of the public.
The event, organised by the SUPP Dudong Branch, aimed to showcase the unique spirit of harmony in Sarawak.
The mandarin oranges were sponsored by Doremart Supermarket, with 10 boxes provided by Procurement Manager Henry Wong and Pedada Branch Manager Eddis Wong.
Wong said that the SUPP Dudong Branch also provides mobile services to the public, bringing the branch closer to the grassroots, listening to the voices of the people, and assisting in solving livelihood issues through the service team.
“The spirit of harmony in Sarawak is the result of the collective efforts of all ethnic groups, and I hope that such activities will further promote unity and friendship among all communities,” said Wong, who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC).
