State leaders celebrate Hari Raya unity at Satok rep’s open house

KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, continued their Hari Raya Aidilfitri visit by attending the open house of Utility (Sarawak Energy Berhad and PETROS) Deputy Minister, Datuk Ibrahim Baki, at Hikmah Exchange Event Centre today.

The open house, which started at 10 a.m., welcomed thousands of visitors from various backgrounds, including rural communities.

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang also attended the event.

Regarding the open house, Ibrahim said that visiting during the Hari Raya is a tradition in Sarawak.

“The celebration was lively, with people from various ethnicities coming together.

“There are no barriers, regardless of race, religion or our way of life,” the Satok assemblyman said when speaking to reporters at his Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house.

Earlier, distinguished guests at Ibrahim’s open house included Deputy Premiers, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and his wife Datuk Doreen Mayang, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian and his wife Datin Amar Enn Ong Siok Ean, state ministers and deputy ministers, state assemblymen, parliamentarians and members of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

Notably, opposition representatives such as Stampin Member of Parliament, Chong Chieng Jen, and Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong were also in attendance.

Also attending the open house were Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak’s Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Jeniri Amir, and Sarawak Tribune’s Editor-in-Chief, Aden Nagrace.
