KUCHING: Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak has been called upon to amplify its role in educating the public on Sarawak’s development plans by hosting more forums and dialogue sessions across the state.

Sarawak Deputy Secretary (Operations), Datuk Hii Chang Kee, highlighted that while the state has launched major initiatives under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), including the green economy and hydrogen energy, public understanding of these efforts remains limited.

“When the Premier talks about green economy and hydrogen, the key question is – does everyone truly understand it?

“We need a shared platform for better clarity,” he said during the AZAM Sarawak Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri event, themed ‘Raya Kali Tok’, officiated by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.

Hii emphasised the need for AZAM, as a people-centric think tank, to collaborate with local leaders and bring awareness programmes to every district within the next two to three years.

He underlined that with just five and a half years to go until 2030, unified public support is crucial for achieving Sarawak’s vision of becoming a developed state.

“This isn’t just about infrastructure; it’s about shaping industries and the future of Sarawak.

We must all move in sync with the Premier’s vision,” he added.
