KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi extended their condolences to the family of the late Datuk Amar Dominic Andrew Dago Randan, who passed away yesterday.

Wan Junaidi said Dago was a distinguished figure among the Bidayuh community and made significant contributions to the development of the community, the state, and the nation.

“His passing is a great loss not only to his family and the Bidayuh community but also to the people of Sarawak as a whole,” he said in a statement.

Describing Dago as a long-time friend and comrade in the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Wan Junaidi said the former was a dedicated leader with great foresight and unwavering commitment to uplifting the people.

“The late Dago was a true patriot who rendered immense service, especially in the context of Sarawak’s participation in the formation of Malaysia in 1963, and in championing the progress and interests of the Bidayuh community,” he said.

Wan Junaidi and his wife also offered prayers for strength and fortitude to Dago’s wife, Datin Amar Mary Margaret Lenuh, and the entire family.

“We share in this sorrow and loss with the family and hope that all his contributions and cherished memories will continue to be remembered and appreciated by future generations,” he added.

Dago, 91, passed away on Thursday (May 15).

He leaves behind his wife Mary, six children.
