KABONG: A local man was killed on the spot after his three-wheel motorcycle skidded and collided head-on with a rigid lorry along Jalan Nyabor-Sessang yesterday morning (Jul 1).

Yatno Amir, 34, from Kampung Nyabor, died after he was dragged under the lorry and run over by its rear tyres.

Saratok police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said the accident occurred at 8.15 am near the Nyabor Water Plant when the victim lost control of his motorcycle and veered into the opposite lane.

“The vehicle collided into the front right side of the lorry, causing the victim to fall beneath and was run over by the rear tyres.

“He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from Nyabor health clinic,” he said, adding that the body was later taken to the clinic for further action.

Meanwhile, the 43-year-old lorry driver was unharmed in the tragedy.

Mathew added that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
