PUSA: A total of 30 children from the Pusa Zone participated in the Jom Berkhatan 2025 programme organised by the P201 Batang Lupar Service Centre at Pusa Clinic on Sunday.
Batang Lupar Member of Parliament, Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, said the mass circumcision initiative not only fulfils religious obligations but also provides a platform to instil personal hygiene and character development among children from a young age.
“When children undergo circumcision, it marks the start of their journey into adolescence and adulthood, in line with the physical and hormonal changes they will experience as they grow,” he said.
The programme also brought together parents, local leaders and government agency representatives, fostering stronger community ties.
Mohamad Shafizan advised the participants to take care of themselves, perform their prayers, do good deeds and stay away from negative influences and the rising social problems.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to support Pusa Health Clinic by allocating funds to improve treatment facilities for the comfort and welfare of patients in need.
Also present at the programme were Pusa Clinic Medical Officer Dr Goh Siaw Hui, Pusa District Pemanca Rosli Uji, Pusa Zone Penghulu Bujang Beni, Beladin Zone Penghulu Zakaria Mos, Penghulus of Semarang, Spinang, and Batang Maro Musa Zin, as well as local village and community leaders (KMKK) from Pusa District.
