KUCHING: Morshidi Fredrick has been appointed as the new Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), effective Monday (Jan 12).
He took over from former MTCP Permanent Secretary Datuk Sherrina Hussaini.
Previously, Morshidi served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED) for nearly four years, with a consistent track record in managing youth development, sports and entrepreneurship programmes.
The handing-over ceremony was witnessed by Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.
According to Abdul Karim, the handover session was held to ensure a smooth leadership transition and to safeguard the continuity of MTCP’s policy implementation and strategic programmes, particularly in strengthening the state’s tourism, creative industry and performing arts sectors.
