MULU: The implementation and progress of the Long Atip–Long Bedian Spur Road project came under review during a site visit by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Labour, Immigration and Project Monitoring) Datuk Gerawat Gala here.
Gerawat, who is also the Mulu assemblyman, said the visit was conducted to ensure the project complied with approved technical specifications and remained on track with its implementation schedule.
He said regular monitoring was necessary to ensure rural infrastructure projects were executed effectively and met required quality standards.
“Projects of this nature are crucial not only for improving connectivity, but also for supporting socio-economic development in interior areas, particularly around Mulu and Telang Usan,” he said during the visit on Sunday (Jan 18).
The project is being implemented under the supervision of the Highland Development Agency (HDA).
Also present were HDA regional director Juan Ubit and Bario Sub-District Office administrative officer Richard Usah.
Gerawat thanked all parties involved in the project’s implementation and expressed hope that construction works would be completed according to plan.
The delegation later continued its official working visit to Long Lellang.
