KUCHING: A couple from Selangor struck it big after winning RM23.53 million in the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 draw on Feb 7.
In a statement, STM Lottery Sdn. Bhd. confirmed that the pair won the RM23,532,445.40 jackpot in Draw No. 6086/26 with the winning numbers “6777 & 5085”.
The winners — a 49-year-old marketing manager and a 66-year-old retiree — later visited the company’s head office to claim their prize.
According to the older winner, the pair placed a standard RM2 bet on the two numbers, which they had been playing for many years.
“We have been playing these numbers for many years and never imagined they would one day bring us such a life-changing win,” said the younger winner, adding that they are still absorbing the news.
The couple shared that the winning numbers were inspired by the last four digits of their family members’ identity card numbers. The younger winner usually purchases the tickets, while her boyfriend, described as an avid Toto player, selects and records their betting numbers.
She said she would typically spend between RM200 and RM300 whenever visiting a Toto outlet.
Describing the win as timely, the couple said the windfall felt like a “big ang pow” as they prepare to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year.
They plan to use part of the prize money to expand their business, purchase a house and set aside savings for the future.
STM Lottery also confirmed that the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 prize was won in Selangor on the draw date.
