KUCHING: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) has issued a significant weather outlook, warning of potential prolonged thunderstorms and heavy rain in Sabah and Sarawak on Feb 24.
In a statement released today (Feb 21), the department said the forecast is based on analyses of multiple weather prediction models, which indicate a concentration of winds over both states.
“This condition has the potential to produce thunderstorms accompanied by continuous heavy rainfall over a longer duration in the affected areas,” the statement said.
The public is advised to stay updated by referring to the official MET Malaysia website at www.met.gov.my, its official social media platforms, as well as by downloading the myCuaca mobile application for the latest and verified weather information.
