Seven held for drug abuse in Bau crackdown

BAU: Seven individuals, including a woman, were arrested in a drug crackdown conducted by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (NCID) here yesterday (Mar 2).

Bau police chief DSP Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the arrests were carried out between 9.15am and 5.20pm on Mar 2 at the NCID office of the district police headquarters (IPD).

He said six men and one woman, aged between 24 and 46, were detained on suspicion of drug abuse.

“Preliminary urine screening tests on the suspects returned positive results for drugs.

“They were detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said in a statement.

Mohd Haide stressed that police would not compromise with individuals involved in drug abuse and would continue to take firm action.
