KUCHING: An elderly foreign man died following an accident involving a lorry along Jalan Pelabuhan Kuching on March 16.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident occurred at around 9.30am.
According to the report, the victim was a 78-year-old foreign man who was riding his bicycle along Jalan Pelabuhan Kuching in the morning.
“During the incident, the lorry was travelling in the middle lane from Jalan Senari towards Jalan Pelabuhan Kuching.
“The victim was riding on the far left lane and was believed to have suddenly changed lanes towards the middle lane, where he came into contact with the lorry, resulting in the accident,” he said.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at 12pm while receiving treatment at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
