KUCHING: Young musical talents in the city are set to receive professional training through the DBKU X Prodigy Orchestra Workshop 2026, scheduled to take place at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak on May 18.
Organised by Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) in collaboration with Prodigy, the workshop is held in conjunction with the Kuching Music Festival to empower youth and children in the field of orchestral music.
DBKU emphasised its commitment to providing platforms for the urban youth to develop their potential through arts and culture.
“This initiative is in line with efforts to strengthen the creative community and foster interest in music as a medium for positive personality development,” the statement said today (Apr 24).
The workshop aims to provide early exposure to the fundamentals of musical instruments, group performance techniques, and professional orchestral arrangements.
By partnering with Prodigy, which has extensive experience in music education and performance training, DBKU expects to provide high-quality guidance to participants.
Expert facilitators will be on hand to help enhance the technical skills and confidence of the young musicians.
The session will run from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and while registration is free, places are limited.
Participants are required to bring their own musical instruments and music stands for the duration of the workshop.
DBKU urged parents and guardians to encourage their children to participate in the programme as a stepping stone toward developing high-potential artistic talent.
