CYBERJAYA: Pengurusan Aset Air Bhd (PAAB), in collaboration with the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI), has launched the PAAB Media Award 2026 – a landmark initiative that for the first time formally recognises the contributions of media practitioners in covering issues related to Malaysia’s water sector.
The award was established as an official platform to honour journalists who have consistently played a vital role in raising public awareness on the development and sustainability of the national water industry.
The competition is open to coverage spanning a wide range of topics, including water services, infrastructure development, water policy, asset management, non-revenue water (NRW) reduction, and the roles of PAAB and state water operators across Malaysia.
Entries are accepted across three main categories – television journalists and videographers, print media journalists and online news portal journalists.
Winners in each category will receive cash prizes, a trophy, and a certificate of recognition.
The categories in the contest are Best TV News & Online Video Report, Best Digital News Report & Feature and Best Print Media News Report & Feature.
The total cash prize pool stands at RM13,500, with trophies and certificates awarded to all winners.
Notably, there is no entry fee, making the award accessible to all eligible media practitioners.
