KUCHING: The Satok division of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) will hold a blood donation campaign at AEON Mall Kuching Central tomorrow (Saturday, July 4) to help replenish blood supplies at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
The campaign, to be held from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, is organised in collaboration with the SGH Blood Bank and is open to all eligible members of the public.
Organising chairman, Anthony Liew, said the initiative aims to raise public awareness on the importance of regular blood donation while supporting the hospital in maintaining an adequate blood supply for patients in need.
“Blood donation is one of the simplest yet most meaningful ways for the public to contribute to society.
“We hope this campaign not only helps replenish blood supplies at Sarawak General Hospital but also inspires more people to become regular blood donors. Together, we can make a life-saving difference,” he said in a statement.
Liew noted that as blood cannot be manufactured artificially, every donation has the potential to save lives.
He added that the campaign also seeks to promote a culture of voluntary blood donation, strengthen community spirit and encourage compassion, volunteerism and community service.
The organisers also expressed appreciation to AEON Mall Kuching Central for sponsoring the venue, as well as Borneo Solar Technologies Sdn Bhd, Lian Hua Seng Livestock Sdn Bhd, Podcast: Kepo Talk, Teraju Lestari Sdn Bhd, SCR Corporation Sdn Bhd, Bravo Network Distribution, and AIK Cheong Sdn Bhd for supporting the humanitarian initiative.
Members of the public who are eligible to donate blood are encouraged to participate, with organisers stressing that a single donation can make a life-saving difference for patients and their families.
