BALINGIAN: A low-income family in Kampung Lintang received a new home under the People’s Wellbeing Housing Programme (PPRS) on Thursday (Jul 16), with the handover witnessed by Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi.
The newly-completed house was handed over to recipient Mohammad Fakhry Fasyin under the government’s initiative to provide safe and comfortable housing for eligible low-income households.
Speaking at the ceremony, Abdul Yakub said the implementation of PPRS reflects the government’s continued commitment to improving the living conditions of those in need.
“PPRS is one of the government’s key initiatives to help lower-income groups own more comfortable homes, thereby enhancing their quality of life.
“A good home not only provides shelter for the recipient but also enhances the wellbeing of the family and creates a more conducive living environment,” he said in a news report by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS).
Abdul Yakub expressed hope that the recipient would make full use of the new home and that it would become a place where the family could build a more comfortable and harmonious life.
He also thanked all parties involved in the successful implementation of the project, including the Balingian Sub-District Office, the implementing agencies and contractor Assna Resources.
Also present were Balingian Sub-District Office Administrative Officer Nolin Gendang, Sarawak Administrative Office (SAO) and Penghulu Harbi Baker.
