ACTRESS Elfira Loy has dismissed suggestions that she has stepped away from the entertainment industry, saying she has simply chosen to scale back her acting commitments to focus on raising her young children.
The ‘Tentang Bulan The Series’ actress said her priority is ensuring her two children, aged seven and four, receive the attention they need during their formative years.
The 32-year-old stressed that she is not being overly selective about acting offers but is instead striving to maintain a healthy balance between her career and family life before making a full return to the screen.
“I’m not being too selective.
Right now, my children are my priority.
Alhamdulillah, my schedule is much more organised these days and I’m able to manage my time well.
“If the right project comes along, I may start acting again,” she said.
Elfira admitted that slowing down was not an easy decision, having been involved in the entertainment industry since childhood.
Even so, she said she made the choice wholeheartedly because she wanted to fully embrace the experience of watching her children grow up.
“I’ve been in this industry for more than 10 years, but motherhood is still a relatively new experience for me.
“Of course, I miss being more active in acting.
But we have to set our priorities because it’s impossible to put everything first at the same time.
“For now, I want to cherish this phase of my life.
Once I feel more settled as a mother, perhaps I’ll be ready to open myself up to more work opportunities,” she said.
