KUCHING: A young motorcyclist was killed after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a car before being dragged by a lorry along Jalan Canna here yesterday (Aug 17).
The fatal accident, which happened at around 12.25pm, involved a Perodua Bezza, an HCC lorry and a Modenas Kriss motorcycle.
Initial investigations found that the 18-year-old victim was travelling from Jalan Stutong Baru traffic light when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into the Perodua Bezza.
He then fell onto the road and was dragged by the lorry, which was travelling straight in the right lane.
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His body was taken to the hospital for further action.
Meanwhile, the drivers of the car and lorry escaped unhurt.
Alexson said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
