BINTULU: A driver was killed after his car collided with a lorry along the Bintulu-Samalaju coastal road this morning (Sat, Aug 22).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at 8.41 am and deployed five firefighters from Kidurong station to the scene.
“Upon arrival, firefighters found that the accident involved a Proton Preve and a lorry.
“The driver of the Proton Preve was trapped in the driver’s seat and was pronounced dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel,” a Bomba spokesperson said.
Firefighters used rescue equipment to extricate the victim from the wreckage before handing over the body to police for further action.
The operation was brought under control at 9.45 am and ended at 10 am.
Police and Health Ministry personnel were also at the scene.
