MIRI: Firefighters in the city were called to an unusual emergency on Friday night after a Proton Satria vehicle was accidentally locked from the inside at a petrol station in Desa Senadin here.

The call came in at about 8.04 pm, sending a six-member team from the Lutong Fire and Rescue Station to PETRONAS Desa Senadin, about 6km away.

Firefighters arrived at 8.11 pm and quickly assessed the situation, confirming that a Proton Satria had been locked from the inside.

Rather than reaching for a conventional locksmith, the firefighters stepped in with specialised equipment to gain access to the vehicle.

Following a brief size-up, the team carefully opened the car door using their rescue equipment, successfully resolving the situation within minutes.

The operation was declared completed at 8.17 pm, just six minutes after it began.

The firefighters returned to their station at 8.18 pm and arrived back at 8.23 pm.

No injuries were reported.
