SRI AMAN: A missing middle aged man who went missing on Sept 3 has been found earlier this morning (Sept 5).
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that the victim, Mangka Enting, 58, was found by villagers at a hut on the roadside at Tanjung Kemiding, Lipat at 8.50 am.
“Reports on the ground said that the victim was able to find his way out of the jungle area, according to the villagers.
“The victim was handed over to family members and the police before being transported to Betong Hospital by the Civil Defence Force (APM) ambulance for medical evaluation,” it said.
The search and rescue (SAR) operations ended at 10 am.
Before this, BOMBA received a report of a missing person on Sept 4 at 1.10 pm. Firefighters from Betong fire station were deployed to the last location of the victim.
The victim’s children reported that their father has not returned home since 9 am on Sept 3.
They said that the victim went to the jungle to hunt.
Since then, BOMBA with personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) and APM, along with villagers, commenced the SAR operations.
