MIRI: Flying Doctor Service (FDS) assistant medical officer Alexson Adit Henry, 31, was laid to rest at the Anglican Cemetery in Lambir today (Sept 14), with more than 300 people gathering to bid him a final farewell.
His remains were brought to Good Shepherd Church in Lutong earlier in the day, where family members, relatives, friends and well-wishers gathered for the funeral service.
Following the service, Alexson was accompanied on his final journey to the Anglican Cemetery in Lambir, where he was laid to rest around noon.
His wife was seen holding a photograph of her late husband near his burial site as the family said their final goodbye.
In a farewell message shared on social media, she wrote: “See you in another life. Thank you for everything, sayang. I love you as always. Please watch us from above.”
Alexson was one of five people killed when a BO-105 helicopter operating the FDS crashed near the Long Lellang Short Take-Off and Landing Airport (STOLport) in Ulu Baram on Sept 8.
The tragedy also claimed the lives of pilot Captain Zainol Afiq Bee Sham, 30; medical officer Dr Ainul Baraah Kamaruddin, 33; and nurses Jessie Paya Jok, 44, and Debra Moset, 40.
